short video explaining what we do

Vanishing cultures project

The Vanishing Worlds Project travels to distant communities, recording rituals, songs, and stories to preserve fragile ways of life before they fade. We document cultures, communities, and ways of living that are changing, disappearing, or rarely understood—so future generations can better understand the depth, diversity, and psychology of human life.

This matters because once these worlds disappear, much of their wisdom, struggle, identity, and lived experience can vanish with them. Donations and support help make it possible to travel, record, edit, and safely preserve these stories so the work can continue and reach more people.
